Doha Bank Emerging Retailer Award of the Year 2016
Quality Group International has been honored with the Emerging Retailer Award of the Year
2016, for outstanding contributions in the Retail field during a function hosted by Doha Bank, at
Westin Hotel Grand Ball room. Mr. Shamsuddin Olakara, Chairman of Quality Group
International, received the award from Mr. Rashid Ali Al-Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock
Exchange & Board Member and Dr. R. Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank, at the exclusive gala
event attended by top leaders in business, in addition to VIPs and a host of esteemed dignitaries
from leading corporates and major banks in Qatar.
The awards recognize the most innovative emerging retail companies in Qatar, representing the
benchmark of success. Quality Group International secured the award for ‘Emerging Retailer of
the Year’ portraying a vibrant corporate vision and continuous growth marking its journey as a
success story. The jury members awarded Quality Group International, acknowledging the
retailer’s business successes and superlative hospitality. Quality Group International further
emerged as the winner in the category, owing to delivering on its vision and mission.
Additionally, the selection committee noted that Quality Group International is continually
engaging with customers to enhance the shopping experience and after sales commitment.

The evaluation criteria included financial performance, rates of staff development and retention,
innovation and use of technology, integrity and transparency, application of quality standards
and certifications, and commitment to environmental protection and compliance with
environmental legislation. According to the survey taken, Doha Bank ATM/ Credit/Debit cards
were most used in Quality Retail outlets.
